Ok so I taught my pug to lay down for a treat yesterday (i had her crawl through my leg) She also knows paw, other paw, up, speak (although not shut up!) Which tricks have you taught your dogs and can anyone tell me how to teach beg? You know when they just sit on their bum? Roll over would be good too!

we got a taught touch first then beg. I also downloaded dog tricks for dummies from a website for free onto my kindle so the children have now taught pimmsdog to roll over, bow, kiss and the very useful "get x" (which is mainly used to send notes between each other). We use beg as a greeting, as pimmsdog came to us jumping up at everyone so now instead of jumping up he sits on his bum and hugs you with his front paws, not great but better than being knocked over by 28kg of fur running at full speed Grin

Roll over was taught after down with a treat in your hand so that he follows it and rolls over, we now have bang as the command as the DCs think it is hilarious to shoot the dog Shock

He still won't give you the ball when he's fetched it though (even with thousands of treats on hand) as the ball is just too much fun to chew Hmm

We taught
Sit (obv)
Stay (obv)
Shake a paw
Roll over
Balance biscuit on nose for as long as asked and then toss it in the air to catch and eat it.
Previous dog, we didn't teach beg but she did it of her own accord anyway! (Staffy)

We have:
Sit
Lay down
Paw
Gimme five!
Turn around
Roll over
Leave it
Stay
