Dh and I are desperate. our lovely 10 month old border terrier has started barking most nights we are not sure why it started (about 6 weeks ago) but it is exhausting. We have tried leaving him to it and sometimes he gives up after a while. Other times he is clearly getting distressed. Tonight he has barked for 3.5 hours and I have succumbed as I am so tired. I came downstairs and he was so relieved. He then jumped on sofa and crashed out.

Have been looking at that - don't think it is yet but we are going that way

Could there be something in the room frightening him? My dog is scared of the hoover, the one night I left it in the kitchen he had me up for hours before I twigged.
