Has anyone else been to this before? I've been thinking about going this year, but the website wasn't particularly informative. Need to think about if it's worth a trek to London and the ticket price. Glad to hear good and bad experiences....

It always feels a bit like a show for people new to dog ownership.

There are the usual trade stands (not as many as crufts and less offers) also the discover dog section where a lot of breed dogs are on display for you to see and ask questions of the owners.

There are displays of agility obedience, good citizens etc. Some rescue agility and displays. I think they still do Scruffs.

It is a good doggy day out but you probably will not see anything new if you are involved in dog sports, rescue or dog activities.

I agree with what Cuebill said. We were thinking of getting a dog last year and it really helped us make up our minds what breed to go for, and it really helped get the DCs excited about dog ownership! There is a lot going on in the show-ring thingy too though - dancing dogs, agility, flyball etc. There were young dog-owner competitions etc and we saw Barney the blue peter dog which was v.exciting. The website doesn't give a lot of info but depending on how far of a trek it is for you I'd say it was good fun. We will probably go again this year but we're only 1/2 an hour from central London.

I travelled down from Shropshire last year, as one of my dogs was asked to represent her breed. It's perfect for finding out about the breeds, I'd say it's better than crufts for that as there's no showing. Somehow feels more spaced out than discover dogs at crufts as well. I was at crufts doing discover dogs with her this year and it wasn't as nice as earls court.
