Does your dog SNORE?

My puppy is a very noisy sleeper. She sounds like an old man. The other night I woke up confused because my sleepy brain couldn't process the fact that there was apparently a senior citizen sleeping in our bedroom Confused. She appears healthy in all other respects....

Don't they all? And fart?

TunaPastaBake · 26/07/2012 19:10

oh yes she snores !

not farting as much since we changed her food however .

peeriebear · 26/07/2012 19:13

My dog alternates between snoring and this ridiculous whuffling WhooOOoooOOoooOo noise like something off Scooby Doo. I have to wake him up when he does that as it gets so loud you can't hear anything else!

TunaPastaBake · 26/07/2012 19:15

oh yes the whuffling !

MrsVamosGOTEAMGB · 26/07/2012 19:17

It wouldn't be so bad if my pup just snored. She makes all sorts of noises as she is settling down, complete with long, drawn out sighs, and groans.

She is a silent farter. Which wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the stench that she produces ! It does seem to be waning as she gets older, so I'm hoping it's just puppyhood farts !

I do have an ol' boy dog who farts, but only when he jumps up to have a nosy out the window !

SrirachaGirl · 26/07/2012 19:33

Ok. So no cause for concern? Older dog is a silent sleeper so this is all new to me....the farting too. Oh God. The farting. Envy

No, no cause for concern at all !

I recognise that face. Grin

ChickensHaveNoLips · 26/07/2012 19:37

Lots of snoring and farting here, too. Lovely.

TunaPastaBake · 26/07/2012 19:38

''Lots of snoring and farting here, too. Lovely.''

could be talking about my DH not the dog !

groovejet · 26/07/2012 21:43

Flynn snores really loudly, some nights it ends up with him, dh and dd1 all snoring away.

He is also prone to silent but deadly farts, for some reason he likes to move himself over right on my side of the sofa to do this.

poorbuthappy · 26/07/2012 21:44

yep she snores horrendously...and she's just dribbled on my foot.

Love her. Grin

JamInMyWellies · 26/07/2012 21:46

Yep like a freight train he sleeps downstairs and his snoring wakes me up in the middle of the night.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 26/07/2012 21:47

Yes snores, farts, whimpers, little whispery barks.

Such a joy to have them both sleeping in my room.

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 26/07/2012 21:48

Mine doesn't snore but he makes the cutest noise when he yawns.

higgle · 27/07/2012 07:30

Mine did, so loudly DS1, who had the bedroom above, had to buy ear plugs.

wriggletto · 27/07/2012 09:16

Yet another thing I love about dogs is the completely unashamed way they fart. Climb up onto a chair. [parp]. Scratch ear vigorously with back leg. [parp]. Have nice stretch [parp]. None of this human blushing and trying to blame it on someone else. Just loud noises like someone ripping a sheet in half and a smell that could stop a yak in its tracks, without a flicker of the eyelid.

LottieJenkins · 27/07/2012 09:22

Bumble harumphs in his sleep............Grin and he farts like a goodun too!!!

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief · 27/07/2012 09:23

My cat snores. It is a sort of hybrid snore-purr, but when she gets going you have to turn the TV subtitles on.

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 27/07/2012 09:24

wriggletto your post lightened my day with laughter.

For that,I thank you Grin.

LottieJenkins · 27/07/2012 10:08

wriggletto It made me smile too!!! Grin

wriggletto · 27/07/2012 10:10

Wink I write as I find...

D0oinMeCleanin · 27/07/2012 10:13

One of our foster greys snored really badly. She slept in our room too, this was before DH got his anti snoring machine so it was like snoring in surround sound

The current foster does the most evil farts you could imagine. We are constantly searching the house for 'presents' it's that bad you can barely believe it's just fart.

Scuttlebutter · 27/07/2012 11:43

Three greyhounds here. One who snores in a lady like sort of way, actually sounds very peaceful and is quite endearing, usually this is while she is upside down on the bed with her legs in the air.

And being greys, some champion farters. Usually quiet, but we are tuned in to hear a sneaky little "Pssss" noise which is cue to don the gas marks and make sure all the candles are lit. Grin

And all three do a a variety of noises and movements in their sleep - usually involves chasing squirrels, so lots of leg twitches, squeaks, whiffles, and even the odd bark.

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 27/07/2012 11:54

Mine snores, not that loudly though. Or it might just be that DH is louder so I don't notice Grin He (the dog) only farts when I change his food, but then it is dreadful. I often joke that if the MOD found out they'd use him as a chemical weapon.

Our old boxer used to wag his tail in his sleep which I always found quite touching, he must have been having lovely dreams.

AdoraBell · 28/07/2012 02:59

2 of mine snore, the other 2 don't. They also run in their sleep, which is soooo cuteGrin
