We're getting a puppy!

Not to keep. Just to look after for a few weeks. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas waiting to hear when my puppy is arriving

please no one remind me why I don't especially like having puppies to look after

He's 9 months old so I presume hope that manners have already been installed. I believe that is known as 'deluding ones self'

Fostering. We are going on holiday in two weeks so he's going back the foster co-ordinator and then after that who knows? he will come back here, naturally, just don't tell DH yet

He's here. He's been in kennels for three weeks and just got out today.

He came from a home with children, they'd had him a few months then claimed he snapped at one of the kids Kennelling is expensive. People lie. He met children before coming here and is fine with dd2, although she has been warned to be very calm around him and we have ran through all the rules again. We are well used to dealing with nervous aggressive dogs after Devil Dog.

Devil Dog loves puppies but couldn't eat a whole one Nah, he's fine with them, he's still very lively himself so likes having equally lively playmates.

Haha to couldn't eat a whole one! Dooin you sound like someone I could learn from if I ever decide browbeat DH to get a dog! See name for breed choice but would happily have a rescue if I thought this would be the right home for it!

Well he showed how settled in he was by vacating what looked like an entire weeks worth of kibble all over my living room floor. Never mind he's still luverly

DOoin do you have laminate or shall I send my very good carpet washer round? It works well on little presents (or even big ones), as I discovered myself when DH was left in charge of DD and pimmsdog no DH NEVER let pimmsdog eat 5kg of gerbil food DD was in charge of him (DD is 5)

I have laminate. Our house was derelict when we bought it so we redesigned and refurnished it with pets in mind. Almost the entire house is wipe clean

I was left a puddle this morning too, being a rather large puppy it was a rather large puddle. Nowt a bucket of bleach and a mop won't sort though, we're very relaxed about litte -and big- presents in this house.

I've just had him out for a walk and he is impeccably well behaved on the lead. Someone has clearly put a lot of time and effort into him when they first brought him home. I can't for the life of me figure out what would cause them to give up on him after so much time and work

He put my two to shame with his good manners, although mine had had a rule swap which never goes down well with those two. They'd each been trained to walk on a separate side and after only having two dogs for so many months I had let the training slip a little, they soon caught on and realised that pulling and vying for front, center of the pack will result in tangled leads and tangled leads will snag, which will cause unnecessary tugging on their collars.
