Goran its not my thread title, so as I say I look forward to seeing you on all the other threads with questionable titles. Suspect you'll be busy Grin

D0oinMeCleanin · 18/07/2012 15:08

We should have a code name for SBTs that only dog lovers know. I just know when I see a thread in the doghouse with more than 20 or so replies the word 'staffy' has been uttered. It's as if there is some kind of klaxon or something Hmm

Mamamaiasaura · 18/07/2012 15:08

Hairy you really aren't doing a heat deal to promote responsible dog ownership all by being so antagonistic Sad

Mamamaiasaura · 18/07/2012 15:08

Great not heat

GoranisGod · 18/07/2012 15:09

Apologies hairy-I thought you had started the thread. But I stand by what I posted about any dog who bit my dcs though.

hairylemon · 18/07/2012 15:10

Actually DO0in I think thats a great idea. Every time anyone says something nice about an SBT we can signal the so the haterz can pile in because we simply cannot have a nice thread in the DH can we?

Honestly people say the regs in here are bad!!!

GoranisGod · 18/07/2012 15:11

dooin-I have nothing personally against staffies as I dont know any dog owners with dcs that have them.

I just happen to think that being a responsible parent is more important than a dog and imo a responsible parent wouldnt keep a dog which had bitten their dcs in their home. I know you hold a different opinion...

GobblersKnob · 18/07/2012 15:12

hairylemon Thank you so much Smile he did deserve a second chance, he was a wonderful dog.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 18/07/2012 15:15

There are only dangerous dOgs because of irresponsible owners.

My staffys would not bite anyone, they are well trained. The puppy sleeps on ds2 as a pillow.

But I'm a dog owner so I must be a loon

GobblersKnob · 18/07/2012 15:16

I just happen to think that being a responsible parent is more important than a dog and imo a responsible parent wouldnt keep a dog which had bitten their dcs in their home.

As long as you realise that is just an opinion, I am both a responsible parent and a responsible dog owner.

My friends dd broke her brothers arm in three paces when she pushed him off the top bunk, the parents opted to supervise the children better rather than having their dd pts.

hairylemon · 18/07/2012 15:17

Mama, your first post on this thread is the definition of antagonistic. I am merely getting a bit fucked off that a nice positive thread has once again been derailed by people who have some weird agenda.

Save your little sad face because there is no way you can tell if I am a responsible owner or not from a few posts Smile

Ephiny · 18/07/2012 15:18

I don't see how it's irresponsible to keep the dog if it's kept separate from the child at all times. That may not be possible in all cases, depending on the layout of the house etc, but if the poster who did that was confident that she could keep her child safe (and I guess she knows better than us whether she can or not) then that sounds to me like the right and responsible thing to do.

Mamamaiasaura · 18/07/2012 15:18

Right I have just done a search of all my posts from last 3 months and I cannot see one were I was nasty. The one with whining I was supportive d not on e did I make a discrimination on breed. I have noticed however on many of the dog related threads that you and do do seem to take issue with my posts. Frankly it's rather childish. If you feel I am being offensive then report my posts as I have just done with yours on this thread. In future please ignore my posts if they bother you that much.

The bad form here is you throwing accusations around. Link threads away because I know I've done nothing wrong

Mamamaiasaura · 18/07/2012 15:20

Fucking spellings. The one with rehoming tho lots of whining there too Wink

Mamamaiasaura · 18/07/2012 15:20

And not d and the not e

TantrumsAndBalloons · 18/07/2012 15:23

Btw gobblers I'm glad you kept the dog, took advice, took precautions, rather than put him to sleep the first time he made a noise at your child.

Mamamaiasaura · 18/07/2012 15:23

If you look the thread on question it was a poster with tulips in their name that was haranguing the op. Actually the op thanked me for posting.

CherryCheesecake · 18/07/2012 15:25

I was attacked by our pet greyhound when I was 2 and have a very big scar from it. The thread title didn't bother me. I now own a Rottweiler x gsd :D

GoranisGod · 18/07/2012 15:26

gobbler-I dont compare a dog to a child though. No I wouldnt get rid of my dcs but yes I would get rid of a dog. Because it is a dog and imo any feelings I have are for it are not comparable to the love I have for my dcs.

I just wouldnt take the risk of having the dog bite my child again is all.

GoranisGod · 18/07/2012 15:27

tantrum-please read the thread. It was a bit more serious than the dog growling at her dc...

D0oinMeCleanin · 18/07/2012 15:32

I think only Gobbler is in the position to know whether she is capable of keeping both dog and child safe. Clearly she feels she is able to. Who are we to judge?

I have far better things to do with my time than worry about what other posters are up to with their lives.

And on that note I am off to Pets At Home to spend an exorbitant amount of money on my own little ratbag dogs because I have no children to spend all my money for me this week Grin

I am becoming seriously bored of these anti staffy threads. It's the same posters posting the same crap again and again. I am becoming tempted to hide the DH topic myself

hairylemon · 18/07/2012 15:32

er.....um......crikey where to start?

I take issue with any post that I dont agree with, not yours specifically, sorry to break it to you that I dont have a agenda towards you Grin. Infact laughably I dont even think Ive even replied directly to one of your posts before this thread Confused if I have I certainly dont remember, sorry if that has burst your bubble Sad

I seem to recall you had a post deleted on that thread I am referring to as it was a personal attack on the OP, and some of your other comments were rather nasty so I guess we have both got a bit riled up recently.

Mamamaiasaura · 18/07/2012 15:37

Actually that post that was deleted was to no not the op iirc. Don't misquote me thank you, and if you want to drag other threads in get your facts straight first. Angry

hairylemon · 18/07/2012 15:40

Fair enough, there were so many awful posts on that thread tbf :(

TantrumsAndBalloons · 18/07/2012 15:41

Thank you, I did actually read the thread. I am aware the dog bit the dc.

I am also aware that the people referring to dog owners as "loons" or whatever the charming expression was would be advocating having a dog pts if it looked at a dc the wrong way.

My point is I'm glad that there are people in the world who don't make harsh decisions but take time to train, get advice, etc. much more sensible IMHO.
