sorry another question....

my pom pup was on purina (breeders choice) and i have been slowly adding james wellbeloved (taking out bit of purina etc) for the last week.

any way ive run out of the purina that the breeder gave me - at her lunch i gave her the wellbeloved. she hasnt touched it. i usually wet it abit as this is what breeder done. when i noticed she hadnt eaten it i tried it dry. still not interested

shall i persevere with it or am i looking at having to try a different brand?

oh and ealier i gave her part purina/beloved for breakfast. took DD to park for half hr and pup had been sick? so dont know if this is not agreeing with her as she also has wetter poo (which i know maybe a change to diet).

any advice please? thanks

Hi,

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along soon, but when mine was a puppy I remember the vet saying that puppies are like babies - they have delicate tummies which can be easily upset, so one small pile of sick isn't anything to worry about - it could be the food, but could also have been e.g. a big dust bunny she's snaffled whilst you were out (not implying you're house is dusty, I'm speaking from personal experience here!). I think the key thing is to keep a close eye on her, and take her to the vets if she doesn't seem her usual self.

Vet also told me that if they have a tummy upset they sometimes try to self regulate it by not eating for 24 hrs, and its not a problem as long as they are still drinking fluids.

thanks zippy,

it could be anything?! change of food, treats, house dust etc..

ive been giving her small bits of liver cake when treating, she might find this too rich re the wet poo? she's done quite a bit of pooing today - getting wtter each time. so will give her boiled chicken & rice tonight, hope it will help.

she was in the kitchen while i was out, floor is moped every morning and cant think of any thing she could've ate?

she was at vets yesterday for 2nd jab. he was happy with her when cheking her over, weight, listening to chest etc.

I wanted to put her on eukanuba from purina but was persauded by pets at home man that james wellbeloved is better! wish id stuck with my original plan :)
