I ordered to huge bags of fish for dogs and have just gone to use one and realised they ate both adult food. He is 6 month g.retriever. Is it ok or should he stay on puppy food till a year?

As a larger breed it is advised that they stay on puppy or junior till 12 to 18 months for bone development

So could I just mix this in with the puppy food to use it up?

Just re read pack and says suitable for life stages from junior upwards. Wood he be classed as junior yet?

most dogs are classed as junior from 6 months, with larger breeds being slightly later, closer to 8 months. Retrievers aren't a very large breed so probably fall in the middle. It is a fair few years since I did my nutrition training so if you are at all unsure ring your vets and ask to speak to a nurse for clarification or ring the customer service/advice line for the food as each food is different in the amount of certain nutrients they contain.

I have spoken to ffd and she tells me I can change to normal food at 9 or 10 months. She said use the adult bag I have opened but mix with puppy food and give amounts shown on puppy food guide. Gosh it's worse than having a baby lol. Thanks everyone Grin
