God it's the WORST smell, isn't it? I couldn't believe it wen my lab did the same. The dcs and I all drive home with mint sprigs shoved up our nose!

Anyways I used washing up liquid and then apple shampoo several times. He still smelled a bit but it was mostly gone. And machine washed his collar and lead. And had a very hot shower myself afterwards.

LO L to the mint sprigs !! He is fast asleep on his bed (Faux leather bean bag -so easy to clean ) his collar is already on the washing line . He pongs despite his bath but i have not the heart to awake him to wash again....will have to soon though.

Tomato sauce is meant to be the thing - it neutralises whatever it is that causes the smell. Mine roll in fox poo ALL THE TIME, but they're so big that I'd have to have a Heinz tanker parked outside. Instead I shout like a loon if I see their shoulders dropping into roll position hose, keep baby wipes by the door, and have about a hundred spray-in shampoos that just aren't industrial enough.

Fox poo is the only thing that threatens my dog love.

Tomato sauce does work and you only need a little on the area. For future reference 'whal dirty beastie shampoo'. Should be owned by every dog owner! It. Is fab at getting rid of all things stinky I clouding fox poo.

You need to make sure it is the showman range, suitable for dogs and horses! It comes in a concentrate so last for ever.

As if to prove a point.... Both dogs now sitting damp at my feet, having just been hosed crossly in the paddling pool. What makes it worse is that they're scent hounds, so what smells rank to my weedy human nose must smell almost head-burstingly stinky to them.

Apparantly Pets at Home sell a shampoo specifically designed to combat fox poo. I can't remember what it is called - a lady in our local pet shop recomended it, and said it had won some award because of being so good.

I must get some as my pup has discovered how delightful fox poo is too!

The first person on Dragon's Den to offer a quick and easy, foolproof Dog De-Foxing Kit would totally get my £250,000.
