Snapping between dogs after being fed raw chicken wings

The last two days I have given the boys (10yr westie, 7mth staffy) a raw chicken wing.

I always feed them seperately because the Staff would ganet the Westie's food in 2 seconds flat (the Westie is a reluctant eater).

Well, it turns out that the Westie is not reluctant about chicken wings. But this morning, they weren't seperated as I thought, so I had to try and seperate them with 2 wings in my hand. The Westie snapped at the Staffy quite aggressively (no biting, just deep growling and grabbed his neck).

I thought perhaps he thought the Staffie would take his food.

This evening though, after they'd both finished, and were allowed together again, the Westie again snapped at the Staffy.

Is that normal? Should I be concerned? Should I revert to kibble?

I'm not sure because we only have the one dog, but if it were me I wouldn't revert to kibble yet I'd leave it and see if they settle.

Is the Westie just telling off the Staffie for chancing his luck?? We have lots of pups through the doors and each one will try and visit our older dogs' bowls ....they usually get told off and don't do it again.

Yes, perhaps that is it...and I realised that I probably hadn't given them enough, so worked out according to their weights and topped them up. No more skirmishes since..so perhaps they were hungry and the Westie was just pointing out that while he's not fussed about kibble, chicken wings are nice Grin
