Dog barking (not mine)

What can I do?
It barks every evening, continuously for hours on end. I can hear the direction it comes from but unless I go poking about I can't find the house it's coming from as its a weird layout. Appears to be in a garden. Loud enough I can hear it now through double glazing with all windows shut
Its been going on for months and I've reached breaking point with it. I love dogs, and I'm distressed listening to it, nobody even shouts shut up to it let alone goes out to see it. It's every single night without fail sometimes from 6pm - 1am with no break
Help?!

Difficult if you don't know who's it is. I suppose you could put a polite notice through all the doors explaining you can hear a dog, you don't know who it belongs to but assume they must be out at work at this time and you wanted to let them know that their dog wasnt happy.

Or maybe the RSPCA would investigate?

Have rung 101 police no and ooh council. Nobody interested unless I can give them a house number, which I can't. Basically it's a mish mash of houses and to get to where the noise is coming from, I'm going to have to trample over the over 55's block gardens opposite to find the garden then try to locate which house and road garden belongs to - assuming I can see the bloody dog
All quiet now, for tonight at least. But it will start again tomorrow. If you imagine a continuous bark with an occasional gap for 2 mins that goes on for 4-5hrs....
Poor bloody dog, I would happily have it or the evening/walk it, whatever
