Puppy feeding times

Hi all

Picked up my lovely black lab today 11 weeks old!!

The breeder gave me a list of his feed times 7am, 2pm and 10pm. Does that sound about right? It seems like a long time between his 2 and 10 feed? She even gave me the exact measurements to weigh out Grin

Thanks

I would be feeding a puppy up to the age of 16 weeks 4 meals a day. 7,12,5 10.

Then stay on 3 meals a day until 6 months.
Can you give her a ring to check?

Shes not in tonight but I can ring in the morning. He utterly hoovered his 2pm feed up, i'm not joking it was gone in under a minute!

We feed at roughly 8am, 1pm and 6pm. Then a biscuit in her crate around 11pm/midnight.

Daisy is a 12week old choc lab and she positively inhales each meal! Normal according to our vet.

how's it going gorran? Sorted the howling in the crate yet?

No. It doesn't sound right - not least because it will certainly mean a poo during the night.

They're too far apart, in my view. I have my 11 week old lab pups on three meals a day - at about 7, 1 and 6 ish.

Don't wait until 10 for his last feed. I expect she does it so he has a nice full tummy at night and so sleeps longer. If you are worried, split his allowance into 2 meals - one now and one at 10. Then all will be well.

NuggetsForTeaAgain - thank you for asking. I really don't like to tempt fate, but I hope it's getting better...touch wood. We've been crating her in the morning for about an hour, in the evening for around the same and as and when we've popped out. We went out for an early dinner this evening and when we came in (very gingerly and quietly getting out of the car and walking to the door) all was quiet.

Also, my H tells me Daisy got into her crate for a sleep earlier today, of her own volition, so hopefully she's beginning to view it as a nice place to be.

She would always rather be with us (she's laying at my H's feet as I type), she's a clingy little girl, loves to be where we are but I gather that's pretty normal for a lab.
