Hi our lovely bt 8 month old, has started whining and howling at night since Tuesday. During the day he fell in a canal and I had to hook him out. He was a bit hyper after, but ok. When we put him to bed he seemed fine but started whining about an hour later, I came down reassured him let him out for a wee and put him straight back. He was fine. Every night since he has settled fine and then at some point in the night (last night it was 3.15 started again)

We have left him for longer and longer but it does nt seem to help and he seems distressed plus I don't want him to wake ds up. We have gone down made no fuss, reassured him and he generally settles.

I think the fall in the canal freaked him butnthisncant go on

Have you taken him to the vet?

He needs checking over for a physical reason for the change in behaviour after the fall into the canal.

Poor thing, I would agree that he needs a check over just in case he has hurt himself, I know with humans, pain can seem much worse when you settle down to go to sleep, and can then be stiff when you wake up to move around. If all this is clear, I don't know if this would work, but how about a dap collar for a week or so, it might make him a little more settled.

Poor thing :( If the vet gives him the ok - is he crate trained? a night or 2 back in his crate may just give him reassurance and the security after having a fright?
