Kong fillers

We don't have peanut butter, cream/cottage cheese or yoghurt in our house. I thought maybe sandwich pastes would be a good idea, something stinky like salmon paste? Or make a sardine filler,- mush sardines and mix in liver cake or other small treats then freeze? What else?

Our old dog used to like bread that we squished up into the kong.

Soak their usual kibble (in gravy if you're feeling generous) and use it to pack the kong.

Fish4Dogs salmon mousse is great, snip off the corner and squeeze it straight in.

Mine have value range beef mince, packed in tight and then frozen to make it last longer.

Hi, is that raw mince, or cooked? Do all of these fillers not upset their tummies? Do you freeze all the fillers?

Inthepotty · 09/06/2012 14:06

Never had an upset tummy using mince. Leave it frozen. I buy primula cheese or tesco range squeeze cheese to 'plug' the end.

Sorry 'feed' it frozen to last longer, but you don't have too.
