Dog Rocks?

Has anyone used these to stop getting brown patches on the lawn? DP keeps moaning about our puppy's wee ruining the grass and found these Dog Rocks. Just wondering whether they actually work, and do dogs mind them being in their water?

We are trying our first lot, so the jury is still out. I don't think we are getting any new brown patches, so maybe they are working. After the first day, when DDog1 kept trying to eat them, they have been ignored.

We couldn't use them because our dog chews stones, but one of the wise doggy people on here recommended putting a tablespoon of tomato ketchup in with food. For some reason it neutralises the wee.

It has certainly helped our grass.

Thanks for the replies! I am going to try the tomato ketchup method first and see if it works ~ I think she'd prefer that to stones :)

Apparently its the female in season who makes the brown marks?
I have used dock rocks but cant say they worked, might try the ketchup!!

We're trying them. Jasper is a castrated male, and his monsoon wees are murdering my lawn.

Mine is also a castrated male!

It doesn't cure the problem completely, but it definitely helps and we notice the difference if someone forgets to put the sauce in!

We tried them, didn't do anything! Brown patches all over (dh just re-seeded with special seed for doggy-wee patches Confused).

Love the ketchup idea and will try that too....will be interesting, with raw diet!

That said, a friend said Dog Rocks work well only when she puts a load in a jug, fills jug with water, keeps in cool place and just re-fills bowl from it then tops up. Also avoids rock-chewing. I haven't tried it yet.

How often does one give ketchup? Is the sugar and salt not bad for them Blush
