We live on a farm and have 3 dogs, all working sheep dogs. Our neighbours also have dogs and work on the farm.

Towards the end of last year our neighbour it a collie and problems between our eldest dog and this dog have started.

Our dog has always been a placid, laid back good natured dog but for some reason she hates this new collie. The feeling is mutual and they can get really aggressive, to the point where our dog will chase the owners truck down the road barking because she knows the dog cold be in there.

She has now started chasing my car and the postmans and the other dogs
( who haven't got a clue what's going on) have started to copy. We have tried telling them off, reintroducing them and now they are always separated. But we need to stop the car chasing. Any ideas?

I can't answer your question, but I know someone whose border collie was chasing cars. They took him to the animal behaviour clinic at the University of Lincoln and the lady there taught them some exercises that involved redirecting that energy to a tennis ball. They got homework to do in between sessions, and it made a big difference right away. So maybe an animal behaviourist will be able to help. I think this is a common problem with herding dogs.
