Just thought I'd update you as we now have a new member of our family, - a beautiful lab/border collie cross.

He is the best dog in the world (of course). On his first night in our home he didn't cry at all, only fidgeted and snuffled around for a bit then went to bed - (he already seems to know 'bed'). He got up once in the night to pee on newspaper. On his second night same again only when he woke we took him to the garden to do it there. Only 3 or 4 pees in the house so far (when we took our eye off the ball too long) everything else in the garden.

He is quiet, calm and gentle too and fingers crossed we really seem to have a good one Wink and he was very good at the vet's today.

There are a couple of pics on my profile if you want to take a look Smile

Lovely. And presumably not called Fenton?

(I know a Fenton IRL ... oh boy has he suffered!)

pimmsgalore · 15/05/2012 10:28

Gorgeous, looks just like my new rescue he is about 2 and a lab/collie cross. Keep posting pictures it will be nice to know what Max probably looked like when little Grin

NunTheWiser · 15/05/2012 13:00

Oh, he's so beautiful!

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 15/05/2012 13:10

Squeee he's lovely! I picked up mine on Sunday and am very Envy as she is not yet sleeping through she is only 8 weeks, but she has done her poops outside.

OhChristFENTON · 15/05/2012 18:39

I've put some more photos on.

I love him already. I've never had a dog apart from DH's very old doberman which we inherited. I honestly feel like he's changed my life already, I am a dog owner. Grin

For the first time on Sunday morning (since old boy died) we were up and enjoying the sunny day with him instead of creeping back to bed with yet another cuppa and wasting the day.

I can't wait to take him for walks.

Oooooh so lovely! I want a dog soooo much but not sure my three children would ever leave the poor thing alone, so I've refrained :o

OhChristFENTON · 15/05/2012 18:52

My boys are 7 and 5, and while they do make a fuss of him and he of them, they do seem to have a mad chasing round playing crazy time, they also have a 'down time' to when they all get a break from each other - they all seem to be finding their feet with each other and so far so good, it's working out fine Grin

I take it you are keeping him away from Richmond Park Wink

OhChristFENTON · 15/05/2012 19:04

AllergicToNutters · 16/05/2012 22:17

He is absolutely and unbelievably beautiful! I love him too :-) Did you get him from rescue or breeder? He looks scrumptious

MuddyDogs · 16/05/2012 22:39

Oh Christ, Fenton; he's SO cute!

We have a new pup at our house too. I forgot how delicious puppies are; even my grumpy (but beloved) terrier is besotted with her . Is it weird that I sometimes curl up on the floor with her just to snuffle her puppy fur and giant paws because she smells so lovely?

out2lunch · 16/05/2012 22:42

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww he is just lovely

have you smelled his paws yet ? Grin

Whoopydofoxpoo · 16/05/2012 22:52

I love puppy paws , their pads are so black !

saffronwblue · 17/05/2012 01:27

He is gorgous! My dog Daisy is a lab/border collie cross. Clever, greedy, active, loving, high energy mad and did I say active?
You are in for a lot of fun!
