I'd like some opinions on what you think is the best dry dog food on the market.

We have been looking at, Barking Heads, James Wellbeloved and Orijen.

We have also been considering Nature's Diet again, although poos werent great for picking up when they had that.

Any suggestions welcome.

barking heads seems to realy agree with mine but very £££ currently trying skinner salmon and that seems good., skinners duck did not agree with spaniel. Fish 4 dogs also very good.

Thanks Dita, I am leaning towards Barking Heads. We need to pick a brand that I can order online and get it shipped to Germany and I dont think I'd be able to get Skinners that way.

We have tried looking at the brands over here but the most popular is Royal Canin and thats a load of crap, really.

I might have lied about the shipping. It would seem you can order it from amazon so I could get it over here.

40% rice seems a lot though.

I have mine on JWB cereal free. They are doing great, especially my grain allergic Staffy.

Orijen is brilliant but damn pricey. If I could afford it I'd have my dogs back on it in a heart beat.

BarkingHeads is ok as long as your dog isn't allergic to grains/oats. If you go to their website, you can get free samples sent to you to try out.

My dog has no complaints about Orijen. She's a Westie and I'm careful about her food because Westies can be prone to skin complaints; so far we've had no problems. It's expensive for sure but in the long run, best quality food is cheaper than vet bills!

I had my spaniel on orijen when he was a puppy, it was great and really suited him. I can't really afford it now so he has lukullus which is decent quality and probably quite easy to get in Germany.
