They have a cocker spaniel. The last 6-8 months have been hard for them.

They lost his mother who helped with dog and child care.

They have both been made redundant. Fortunately both have now found work however both full time. She was part-time so had the dog part of the week with her MIL the other part of the week along with their DC.

How can they keep the dog? The jobs they now have are earning less than what they did before plus they now have full time child care costs to factor in. They are struggling financially and have said there isn't anyway they can afford a dog walker.

I can't help as I live 50 or so miles away. What suggestions can I give them other than rehoming. Can you come up with anything?

oh that's a brilliant idea. I did mention a teenager but that wouldn't be until 3.30 ish after school which is too long to leave the dog alone.

Thank you!

They both work part time but need a dog walker?

Agincourt · 26/04/2012 09:24

can they not let the fdog out at lunchtimes or ask a neighbour to?

gregssausageroll · 26/04/2012 09:35

No they both work full time. Neighbour can let dog out but only until she goes back to work after mat leave in June sometime. Too far for them to travel back.

Any faint chance either of them could take the dog to work with them?

gregssausageroll · 26/04/2012 09:41

He is considering that. But worried over summer as she would need to be left in the car. Office environment call centre so can't take dog in. Have suggested a daytime family to them.
