He's been wasted. I took him to the vet yesterday who said he has a sort of canine D&V bug combined with a monstrous fever, general listlessness and lack of appetite.

I'm not very used to dogs being ill, and I find the thought of losing him terrifying. Has anyone else experience doggy flu/bugs etc? He's a 12 year old collie'ish dog.

If it's a bug then hopefully he will be better soon. How has he been today?

I took him to work with me and he spent all day lying in a crumpled heap on Friday. He is back to normal now! His temperature went up to 103. It's interesting that we humans so often use something to reduce temperature to feel better, but the vet didn't do that and gave him an anti-emetic and some tummy settler.

Poor thing, sounds like he was really poorly. I'm so glad he is better!
