Dog beds

Our vizsla needs a new bed, he's getting on a bit and likes to curl up so he needs lots of padding at the sides that won't collapse and the cushion needs to be nice and thick too. Machine washable is a must as he sheds a lot. There are so many around but without being able to squish them in person it's hard to tell how nice they are!

My boys (GSDs) have these ruff n tuff They are fab, washable, waterproof and so far, indestructable. They have a gabardine/ raincoat type cover and my old boy finds his very comfy. But I have the flat versions as mine are too big for the one with sides. I warn you, they are expensive but imo totally worth it.

I did go and squish them in person though first

My lab has a www.zippyuk.com/acatalog/Zippy_Pet_Beds.html and it is fab. We have the none fabric version as he sheds like mad and it is easier to brush out.

So comfortable that my lab has to sometimes has to contend with my 11 yrs old ds (severe ASD / Learning disabled) curled up enjoying its luxury. Ours is 18 months old and is as good as the day we bought it.

Are they soft as he won't lie on those waterproof ones (precious wee soul) they look nice and squishy though but not keen on the black, god I'm as fussy as the dog!

My dogs ones are soft. You can take them into pets at home, then he could try it out before you commit. The covering of the ruff and tuff is like a garden chair cover. So quite tough fabric. And def waterproof. I hoover and febreeze them. Not tried them in the washer yet.

We have this one for our lab/GSD cross. She likes to lie flat out on it with her head hanging off the edge. It's really comfortable.

That looks lush Armi. I could sleep on that myself!

It's fab. I had a go on it when it first arrived and could happily have kipped on it all night long.

Right lots of suggestions will have to get researching, think i've spent more time on this than I did on choosing my own bed!
Armi yours is the front runner so far just wish it was round so he could curl up.

I reccomend these all the time! They Hoover, mop, can use all different covers for em, we have a blanket chucked in ours for snuggling. Not cheap but worth it and should last and last.

My greyhound and dalmation have 10.5tog single duvets each and have never looked do comfy!!!!

I have used duvets in the past but was forever washing them! A friend has a tuffies one and swears by it and I am stupidly rather swayed by the dog on the website that looks like our last viz!

i have tried loads of different beds for my 2 black labradors - i like the fleecy mattresses but the house gets covered in bits of loose fleece that i have go round hoovering up every day. then i've tried doughnut type beds both like them. Now I've got them big plastic oval beds and i put old duvets and old flat dog bed in - they seem to like them and it gives them their own little bit of private space - they seem to hide away all their toys in them too.

They don't look attractive although you can get different colours and try to co-ordinate with your decor (!) But they are cheap and cheerful
