Do you let your dog(s) lick your face?

I don't, just the thought of it makes me feel ill.

So, do you allow your dog(s) to slobber over your face?

No, I wouldn't let a human slobber on my face so I sure as heck wouldn't let my dog.

BulletProof · 01/04/2012 20:05

I don't have a dog but I wouldn't let my cat, son, partner or parents lick my face ;)

D0oinMeCleanin · 01/04/2012 20:05

No. DH does. Which means they try it on me

The grey catches me unawares when I am sleeping. She will not lay down in her bed until she has given me a 'goodnight kiss'. I'm not usre whether to be disgusted or whether to find it sweet. She sleeps in our room btw, she doesn't come upstairs solely to slobber on me Grin

DH allows and enrourages Whippy to nibble the end of his nose. He tries to command her to do it to me (yes, that's right, he encourages it that much, it actually has a command now Hmm) but she knows better.

DH still insists he does not like dogs Confused

talkingnonsense · 01/04/2012 20:06

Yes! In theory no though...

GhastlyBespoke · 01/04/2012 20:09

Dear God No!!

I love her. She's a sweetheart. But no.

Flatbread · 01/04/2012 20:33

Yes, never thought I would Confused. The puppies lick a lot on the lips and nose and there is no getting away from it. Big dog at least is more restrained in her slobbering assaults.

DH has experimented feeding the pups chewed food mouth-to-mouth and they have eaten it. Now that is truly disgusting!

signet2012 · 01/04/2012 20:34

I wouldn't say "let" however it appears to be my "come on you have been asleep for aaaggggggeeesss" alarm when I get a slobbery stinky tongue all over my face. I bury my head under my pillow shouting "no get off, get down" And then he thinks its a game to find me!

But no, it knocks me sick and his breathe normally stinks!

JasperJohns · 01/04/2012 20:36

Yuck! No! I can't abide a licky dog.

Mixed answers then. I know someone who has a slobbery slavery boxer and he just randomly jumps up at her and licks her face for aaaages, she says things like "I had a wash this morning darling but obviously I needed another one" and also "Oh are you kissing mummy? How lovely darling! Mummy loves kisses!"

When I was pregnant it was all I could do not to run out of the room heaving! Still makes me

:o D0oin

Fancy lending me your grey to teach mine how to walk up and down stairs? We currently have to carry him. Leaving him downstairs overnight is not an option. He moo's. And by moo I mean howl, which sounds a lot like a cow, mooing.

No way. A dog's tongue is his face cloth and his toilet paper. Plus our puppy has a penchant for horse dung.

suburbandream · 01/04/2012 20:48

EEwwww, no! He licks his bum, so he's not licking my face!!

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 01/04/2012 20:53

No, they're not licky dogs at all.

Besides, I've seen some of the horrid things they lick

torshihunter · 01/04/2012 21:13

After the gym i get a full leg and foot lick, i must smell/taste goyjuss! Wrt to my face, i do say to Torshi Dog 'no tongues', but he doesn't always listen! I would not tolerate any slobber from any male human, at least i know where the dog has been.

PersonalClown · 01/04/2012 21:16

I don't get a say. Staffy boy will sit right on my lap and slobber. I haven't found a suitable defence that is SBT proof.

BarryNormansSofa · 01/04/2012 21:31

My lab licks my feet - she loves anything to do with feet - socks , shoes ..

Grin
BrianCoxHasScaryHair · 01/04/2012 21:34

Nope. Can not stand being licked, it really creeps me out - bleurgh. I don't let Pip lick Me, never have done. She tries occasionally but I stop her. Really funny thing is....she goes into lick overload when my parents visit - they don't seem to mind though [boak]

Ephiny · 01/04/2012 21:47

I can't imagine not having doggy kisses from my boys! Blush

thefroggy · 01/04/2012 21:55

No way, no...just no. Urrghhh, I don't let him even lick my hand, I hate it!

HelenBaaBaaBlackSheep · 01/04/2012 21:59

Nope and never have but she still tries. Not a great learner...

MightyNice · 01/04/2012 22:01

yes, he's not likely to catch anything from me is he?

am less keen on his habit of darting from out of nowhere to lick the roof of my mouth when I yawn as I'm waking up though

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 01/04/2012 22:05

Hell, no. He ate a small piece of poo that fell out of DS2's nappy yesterday and his breath smells of sprouts.

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 01/04/2012 22:06

The dog's breath smells of sprouts not DS2's Grin

nooka · 02/04/2012 05:33

Our dog isn't allowed to lick my face, but encouraged to 'kiss' dd, and really enjoys dh's ears. I don't think he licks ds's face. I think it's a bit ick, and I really don't like him being quite so close to me, but he does occasionally get under my guard. He says he just loves us so...
