Do dogs get nosebleeds?

Last night I was in bed with the dog watching tele. Yes, I know, but my hub works away a lot! It wasn't late, maybe half 9 and I was later going to put him downstairs to bed in his crate.

Suddenly I realised that where he was laying there was blood, quite a lot, I'd say a wine glass worth. I put him in his crate while I cleared up (duvet cover ruined, duvet stained but can't justify replacing). Then I went and checked him thoroughly but could find nothing wrong. I was up and down fretting throughout the night, but he seems fine and has had a great run today. Could it have been a nosebleed?

how odd?! Hope someone wise comes along to help you soon

My first thought was that he'd tried to eat an item of Sylvanian paraphernalia. Think I'll ring the vet tomorrow, even thought he seems right as rain now.

How did you get on? Did you find out what was wrong? I hope he's doing well now and had no further episodes. It sounds a bit alarming when it happened.
