Duchess the whippet is missing in the Anderby Creek area. Duchess's DogLost page with photos. My friend was on holiday when she lost her (ran off during a walk) and is absolutely heartbroken. She was lost in Anderby Creek and there's been a possible sighting in Utterby. If any of you guys are in the area, please please keep an eye out and get this lovely girl back home where she belongs. Thanks

So sorry to hear this. Sad

Is your friend ringing all the local Councils every day? They may not automatically liaise with each other. Make sure all the Dog Wardens have been given an accurate description and a really good photo, preferably one head, one full body. Also check with any other rescue kennels in the area, sometimes people end up taking them there rather than via Councils. Also, circulate details round the vets in the area, in case she is injured and brought in.

Good luck.

GrittersWifeAndProud · 09/03/2012 15:15

I'm in Lincolnshire, but I've never even heard of Anderby Creek I'm afraid, Lincolnshire is a big county.

I second everything that scuttle said though.

Good luck :(

LaCoccinelle · 09/03/2012 20:25

I'm not in Lincolnshire any more but I've shared the doglost page on facebook and asked my Lincs friends to do the same. I've been to Anderby Creek too, there's nothing there as I recall except lots of beach and a caravan park.

spiderlight · 09/03/2012 20:43

Thanks so much for sharing! Scuttlebutter, I think she's doing all that but I'll pass it on just in case Thanks

I've seen & shared this on fb

Parents are at coast not far from Anderby Creek & lots of people are looking out for this lost doggie, fingers crossed for her

Bossybritches22 · 11/03/2012 16:39

Anderby Creek is part of our lovely coastline between Sutton on Sea & Skegness gritters Grin

Lots of dog lovers around there, fingers crossed for her safe return.

I wil pass it on to all our local doggy community, we're about an hour away but lots of us go that way to the sea.

Let us know when she's found. x

GrittersWifeAndProud · 11/03/2012 17:15

Oh near Skeggy? About an hour away from me then.

I hope she is found soon, I saw the doglost poster on LGTs fb page, they're a really good bunch, they all spent 4 days searching for a lost greyhound not long ago.

Good luck x

spiderlight · 11/03/2012 22:04

Thanks. No joy today, apparently :( I wish I was close enough to go out looking, but I'm in S Wales so it's a bit of a step.

Whippet family in Somerset sending positive thoughts. Recommend sharing this with Scruples Whippet Rescue, Lurcher Link and all major dog charity sites.

VivaLeBeaver · 11/03/2012 22:23

I've posted it on FB page. Hope she's found.

Bossybritches22 · 17/03/2012 23:18

Any news? Sad

SnapSnafu · 18/03/2012 09:50

I've been wondering if there's any news on Duchess too - I saw it on LincsFM twitter feed.

GrittersWife - Anderby Creek is the nicest bit of beach on the Lincs coast. There's a free car park, toilets, ice cream shop and cloud bar (v.cool and free). And nothing else. Great place!

Bossybritches22 · 18/03/2012 20:01

Second that review Snap we love going there JUST for the reasons you mention, nothing much there at all.

Will carry some pom Bears with me in case i bump into you nex time! Grin

Hope Duchess is soon found x

queenrollo · 18/03/2012 20:35

I've only just seen this. Have asked to be added to the FB group so I can share it as I have a few friends who live around that area and also lots of doggy walking friends who cover a lot of that countryside.

spiderlight · 20/03/2012 10:44

Thanks, everyone. Duchess is still missing :(

spiderlight · 20/03/2012 10:47

Shoutymomma, Duchess is originally from Scruples so they're already involved in the search, and lots of other rescues and organisations are aware via Dogpages. I'm not sure about Lurcher Link though - will try them in case they haven't been contacted.

It might be worth putting an add in countrymans weekly (or is it times ?), if she has been picked up and passed into the fraternity that reads the paper , an advert may well get her back . A friend had a lurcher stolen and managed to get it back after placing an ad in this paper . Got to be worth a go. I think a lady from the dogslost site told them to do it .

spiderlight · 01/07/2012 21:47

Bumping this because Duchess is STILL missing. There have been sightings, still in the same area - the most recent was in Chapel St Leonards on 12th June. If anyone is going to Lincolnshire on holiday, please keep your eyes peeled for Duches and help get her home to her family.
