Pancreatitis in dogs.

Hello all, hoping for encouraging stories here.

My niece's dog has pancreatitis. She has always been rather prone to illness (has had a urine infection, and a stomach thing - which required her staying at the vets for several days) She's a chihuahua so obviously tiny and it doesn't take much to knock her for six.

Now she has pancreatitis Sad has been on a drip at the vets for several days, and has now come home, she's on a special diet (although not eating very well yet) goes to the vet every day for pain killing injections.

Has anyone's dog had this? - How long did it take for a recovery? and did the dog make a good recovery or was it prone to further outbreaks?

I feel so sorry - for the little dog being poorly, but also for my niece, who is disabled, and adores the little animal, but has had a lot of worry with her.
