...the in the throat sort of sigh? It's barely audible, like it's on a different frequency or something. What does that mean?

I dunno.

My dogs purrs when she's happy. Do you mean that sort of noise?

It is a bit purry. But sometimes I notice the dog does it when he's a bit confused, or unsure, or when he really wnats your dinner.

And how is HullyDog?

HullyDog is back to normal, thankfully. The only thing i have noticed is that if another dog barks at her now she gets really aggro back, in a kind of If You Think Your Hard Enough way, whereas before she'd just kind of snap in an Oh Fuck Off way.

My dogs purr when they're happy. It's a sort of happy huff. The younger one also has a kind of throaty groan, that sounds like, 'MuuuUUUUuuuummmm' when I'm not paying him enough attention. It's pretty incredible the range of communication they can achieve with just a tail, eyebrows, and a bit of growling/groaning.

My little pup does happy/contented huffs when she goes to bed. She talks to us sometimes when she needs a toilet trip. She used to bark, but DH shushed her and demonstrated the desirable kind of noise :) Think it's a fluke that she's started to do it too, but it's very cute!

Dogs can make a little sighing sound if they're anxious.

Mine does this! I can actually imitate it but my husband claims not to hear it .

She does it when she's content but it's different from a sleepy kind of a sigh; you can only hear it if you are right near her head.
