Angry literally everybody have seen this morning has been told about this poor puppy being attacked by a border terrier, apparently she took a chunk out of its fur. which is quite impressive since at the time the puppy was wearing a padded coat and she defiunatly didnt bite it, cherry followed me over to lady and growled and side bited at the dog, at which point I shouted, put her on the lead and stood to talk to the lady so that her puppy would not be scared while keeping cherry on the lead sat at my side.
wlaked up to a group of fre4idns this morning and she was stood talking to them, friend had been telling of her puppy being attacked (actually attacked) and this lady recounted the story of the border terrier attacking her puppy, friend said did border terrier have a spaniel with it, when lady replied yes she asid well you had better go then because she is here now.

On recounting this tale to another friendshe told me she walked round with a puppy and was telling the owner she was nervouse to let her new rescue of the lead as there have been a couple of attacks (one dog was seriously injured and anpther killed last summer) and this woman said yes her puppy was attacked. I hate walking in the park and try to avoid it at all costs because of the stupid politics, I only went this morning as I twisted my knee really badly on an icy footpath yesterday and wanted to walk somewhere that wasnt icy.

I have been going over and over the moment in question.
feel like I am back in the school yard again.

Good grief - some people love a bit of drama in their life don't they!

Sounds like she has a whole internal narrative of being a knight on a white charger protector person for her poor victim rescue puppy.

Sounds like you prevented any issue developing straight away and that's the responsible thing to do. Dogs don't all like each other do they! She is going to have lots of upsets if she views a no-contact swipe as an 'attack'

Particularly hurtful when you have actually had a chat with her too.

Agree with you is very playground politics isn't it!

Miserable start to your day - hope you can make yourself a good cuppa and forget about it. These unpleasant things which come out of the blue have a rotten habit of getting under your skin don't they! Make yourself very busy and be utterly charming to her every time you see her from now on. I'm sure if she makes a habit of exaggerating like that people will soon see it and tire of her. I am sure people know you are a responsible owner. :)

calmed down now, luckily most people in the park know me and know cherry, they know she can be a little bit 'feisty' and they know how much work and money and training and time I have put into making sure that she is ok around other dogs. They also know that I would not deny if something had happened I would be mortified. hopefully the ice will go soon and I can go back to walking in the middle of nowhere where I dont have to deal with other people. Smile

Gosh what an annoying lady. She sounds like a real drama queen and it sounds like you did exactly the right thing with your dog. It will probably all be forgotten in a few days, and in any case everyone who knows you and your dog will know that what she described would never happen. Glad you have calmed down now, things like this can be so annoying.

Glad you're feeling better. :)

Looks like another drama queen. Avoid at all cost.
