I have two dogs and am really at the end tether as one on them keeps peeing all over the new(ish) rug.
I can't be 100% sure which one but have a fairly good idea, as while one is excellently behaved and toilet trained within days the older dog took the best part of a year and only stopped cos we have a dog flap.
Honestly not sure what the problem is, dog flap always open and have NEVER caught him doing it. Rug is in the living room which is where the dogs sleep, have considered stopping them sleeping in there but it seems the wee incidents arent just happening at night and just occur when no one is looking! He has had a few changes in the past year - no longer allowed to sleep upstairs due to new baby and probably gets considerably less attention (but still gets plenty). Also developed an intense fear of fireworks this year, got so bad he wouldn't go for walks.
Really at the end of my tether with it and hand no idea what to do to stop it happening!
Should also say while I'm almost sure which dog it is I can't be 100% positive as the other dog is definitley the alpha and while on walks is intent on marking his territory!
Am going to steam clean the rug, do you think that will get the smell out? But really hate the thought of having a house that smells of wee and my dd crawling around on a wee soaked rug if ive not noticed in time :((
Very much at the end of my tether with it all help greatly appreciated!

Sorry for much over use of the phrase "at the end of my tether" I'm on my phone and it's 3am and I'm lying awake worried about dog wee! Should perhaps add that dog suspect no. 1 for wee-on-rug offences was noticeably none to happy about DDs arrival and has only just started to go near her for a sniff every now and again in the last month (she's 13 months) mainly as now she's mobile he can't avoid her! Could it be some sort of protest?
