advice please, ok i know its kinda trivial but. we just today aquired a puppy lurcher x and hes had the runs twice, ive given him bob martins worming tablets then about 2/3 hours later ive just had to pull a VERY LONG worm out of his back side. i called the vets and they said he should be exerting them now. has nayone seen or dealt with this before? does anyone else use bob martins? ive never dealt with this before as all our other dogs came to us worm and flea free! x

The runs are probably because of the worms. It's gross, isn't it, but just goes to show you've done the right thing giving worming tablets. I've never had a puppy so don't know how often you're supposed to worm them, but you'll need a regular schedule for it as they can pick them up again from outside. I de-worm my dogs once a month, and the cats very now and then (because they are inside cats so don't need it as often, but they do come in contact with the dogs).

Posted about this recently, with a friend's pup. Googling pulled up round worms. Up to 10cm ish, look a bit like spagetti, totally minging...
It's more expensive, but I would buy worming tablets from the vet ( have heard that Bob Martin is a bit shite ) and ask when to worm next.
Have had dogs for years and had never seen round worms, but have always wormed regulary with the vets' stuff.
