When we move house we will be getting a puppy. Question is should i get the house all decorated to how i want it before i get the pup or should i wait till pup is trained before i decorate etc?

Wait - you have no idea how much mess the pup will make.

You may be lucky and have an easily contented puppy that doesn't really chew, (unlikely Grin)but toilet training will take time to establish and it will be less stressful if you know you are replacing the carpets soon.

That was my thinking too. I have everything i need really but hopefully this will be my last move for a long time (no idea when im moving yet) and want to finally replace the stuff that i bought (cheap) which "would do" until i can replace with stuff that i really like. In reality i wouldnt be buying a new couch till the twins were past the smearing yogurt etc all over stuff (they are 1).

Was just looking online at the stuff i actually want in my house and was thinking about buying 1 or 2 things every couple of months and storing it will i moved but will probably just wait till i move to start doing that. On the plus side i will have more pennies saved for the puppy and all it entails lol

Hmm... I would wait. Your ideas of what carpets and furniture you want may change once you have a dog! I remember in the 70s that my parents replaced the dark green living room carpet with a mottled brown one after we got our Sheltie! Grin

We decorated the hall, landing and stairs about 6 months before we looked for a pup, but deliberately left the old carpet down. That pup is now 19 months old. We are now trying to decide when we will replace it, because I was thinking of hiring a Rug Doctor sometime this year and don't want to spend time and effort cleaning carpets that we may replace later this year.
