I am glad you did! Both my dogs can't be let off the lead in public and I know that. I suspect he knew it too.

the only reason I allow cherry of lead is because she has perfect recall, she is always put on lead when we see another dog, we were just getting out of the car so I am actually impressed that I had hold of leads properly to keep mine under control. I had just started trusting cherry to approach strange dogs. grrrr

We had the same. Both my dogs on leads one fine with other dogs the other one terrified unless she knows then. We had a lab come up to us. Pups hackles can up straight away and she started backing away and said could they get their dog and all they said is oh he is fine he want do anything[shocked] When pup then snapped though fear they told me to put a muzzle on her. Err no keep control of your dog. Then we had a terrier run over to us in the car park nearly getting hit by a car. Both mine were in a down stay by the side of the car whilst i sorted DS out. Pup snapped again after being very good but the other dog just wouldn't leave her alone. The owners said oh she is only being friendly she just loves other dogs. Well that's fine but not all dogs do.

And then a horrid woman told me it was MY fault her massive labs were jumping up all over me as I had treats in pocket and I should get a tupperware??!! No love, train your dog!!
