I posted this thread a while ago, as I was very nervous of my ex's dog. I still haven't spent much time with the dog, but wanted to share this as I was so impressed when I saw the dog at the weekend.

My ex is epileptic. He only has big fits occasionally but they are always a possibility as his condition cannot be controlled with medication. Ex discovered while messing about that the dog tries to bring him round if he looks like he's unconscious. He showed me on saturday by faking a fit i.e. made a few groans and then lay still on the floor with his eyes closed. The dog jumped up and immediately went over to him and started to lick his face. She then tried to push her body under his head to lift his head up, and when he still didn't move, she scratched at his face to try and bring him round. I was soooooo impressed! I made a big fuss of the dog because she was so good, and as a result, I think she likes me! She's bloody huge though, she had one paw on my hip when I was patting her and I thought she was going to break my hip. She's so strong! And heavy!

Anyway, just wanted to share as I was so impressed with how the dog tries to bring him round if he falls down unconscious. Given his condition, this is such a good thing for him and DD if she is ever there when a fit happens.
