I've been looking for homemade liver treats for my dog and found a recipe that has loads of garlic in it. Is garlic ok for dogs? Xmas Confused TIA

How much is 'loads'? I make mine with garlic but only two cloves.

It is fine in small amounts.

12 to 14 cloves! Think I'll just bake the liver and forget about this recipe?

Here's the recipe.

That's a lot of garlic.

I just do 1 pack of lambs liver (don't know what it weighs, just pack from sains) 4oz SR flour, 2 eggs, 2 cloves garlic.

Whizz all in blender, pour into a linened swiss roll tin, bake at gas mark 4 ish for 30 minutes ish.

Cool, cut, freeze.

I like it better than just baked liver as it's not greasy, dogs go crackers for it.

Dogs love it more than life itself but be warned - it makes the house absolutely STINK.

Thanks for the recipe. How long does it keep? And I presume I keep it in the fridge?

In the fridge in something airtight, about a week max.

Personally I cut it all up, freeze it in layers on baking trays (so it doesn't stick together) then stick it all in a big tuperware in the freezer, I just grab a handful whenever I need it, if you cut it small it defrosts in minutes.

Thanks again. We only have an ice box so I'll keep it in the fridge and if there's too much will ask the neighbour if her dogs can have some?
