Not bringing much up but retching a lot. Seems OK otherwise. Not eating much.

I'm a bit worried. Any ideas?

Has he been walked in a heavily doggy area? Also is it retching or more like coughing? Is he known for eating silly things or dead things on a walk?

It could be kennel cough but equally could be a tummy bug or if he's eaten something, it could be a blockage.

When he brings something up, what is it? food (kibble/meat or more digested?) yellow bile or white foam?

Mostly white foam and yellow bile.

He is a dreadful snaffler or random junk Sad

Sorry of random junk.

If random junk is involved I would suggest a trip to the vet to rule out blockage due to random junk. Random junk blockage is always better dealt with sooner rather than later.

SecretSquirrel193 · 06/12/2011 18:51

agree with lizcat, its not a good idea to wait and see with dogs who eat stuff

OrmIrian · 07/12/2011 10:32

Thankyou both.

It had resolved itself by the time I got home from work. He brought up a long bit of lego Hmm He then proceeded to wolf down his dinner and hasn't been sick since. Hallelujah!

I wish he'd stop chomping on odd stuff.

I would have a strong discussion with children about lego last dog that need opening up for lego sadly didn't make it and had a very large bill.

Sad

To be fair to the kids they are usually very good about not leaving stuff lying around - well they have to be or it gets chewed! But I suppose there is always a risk that a small piece will get missed. We did talk about it last night though - they were all very worried about Harley so i think it will have sunk in.
