bare patch on tail

This time last year, my Golden Retriever had a "hotspot" sore on her tail. The vet shaved it and we had to rub in antibiotic cream. She wore a head collar for a bit. This week, I have noticed another nasty patch in the same place, and it looks like she's been pulling out her hair. I have put on the head collar, to stop her aggravating it. I can't get to the vet easily. Does anyone know of any remedies I can try until I make a vet's appointment?

It's a normal place for fleas, might want to check for fleas first

I can highly recommend Camrosa, have used it on horses and dogs.

Thanks for the advice. Pretty sure it's fleas. I gave Advocate on Monday and she wore a head collar for a few days. Took it off yesterday, and she's been at it again. Does Advocate take a while to work? She is scratching a lot.

Try E45 itch cream (for humans) or athletes foot cream, does your dog chase foxes? my staffy does and when she got into a foxes den she then suffered from skin bald patches , my husband used his dermavite cream(eczma cream) on it for about 4 wks and patches went completely
