Ok, don't know if anyone will have any experience of this but looking for advice. Our dog gave birth to a single puppy on Thursday (we were only seen one in the scans so this was expected) and feeding etc. has been going well. Took them to the vets on Saturday (for no other reason than reassurance) and was told that they were both fine, and things should just plod along nicely. However Saturday and last night have been nightmares. Mummy dog is constantly whining and squeaky barking at her baby. She is still feeding him so no problem there and the baby pup doesn't really make much noise other than when he's hungry or on the cool side. Anyone know why mummy dog would be constantly whining? I'm extremely sleep deprived and the vets don't open till half 9!

Awful waiting. If you have insurance, your insurance should have a veterinary helpline. If you are desperate, there will be an emergency vet attached to your regular surgery.
