Fleas again!! Can I give more??

Our boy was always on frontline but it stopped working and he developed sore skin and lost some hair as vet said it was a reaction.
Vet gave prescription for steroids and advantage vet treatment.
I started flea treatment straight away with new lot and it worked for about 3 weeks, and then noticed a flea on him again (we have 2 cats who like to play in woods and even with treatment bring a few now and again.)
I gave treatment a week earlier, but after 5 days his back to scratching and biting again, so clearly it's not working [anger]
Anyone know anything I can give ontop of what his on?? I don't fancy another vet trip just to say its fleas!!

Have you treated the house as 3 weeks is the average lifecycle of the flea so I would go with hatching in the carpets. The fastest product on the market Advocate kills fleas in 2 hours so even with that if a flea jumps on the dog and you look within the next 2 hours you will see it live.

yes treated the house but only have a rug downstairs the rest is wood, I think i might roll up rug and shove it in the shed (doggy doesnt go upstairs).

we were told by our vet, it can take up too 6 months for them to be all gone,

we have used RIP flea spray on the house and de-flea each month,

we have wooden floors and no rugs and carpet i used RIP flea all around the edges of the rooms, and the sofa,

it takes time, keep up with hoovering and washing the dogs bedding, (ive been washing bedding once a week)

I have new flea bites today too - a week after de-fleaing house/bedding and pretty much everything. Advocate due tomorrow, but think dog brings in fleas from foxes - and of course, some may have survived the de-fleaing.

we have wooden floors througout downstairs, and he doesn't go upstairs....but there is SO much fleas can hide in/around Angry

Treated house and bathed him. Anyone know I it would be terrible to double dose the flea treatment?

Our vet says if fleas are persistent...you have to get whole house sprayed professionally, twice, four weeks apart. That will get rid of all home fleas then keep up the Frontline every four weeks.

Good luck.
