First time I've ventured into this section - hope it's OK for a non-doggy type to pop in.

My friend is getting a labrador puppy next weekend and I'd like to get him a welcome present. Was thinking of a toy of some sort but it's a while since I bought stuff like this so thought I should ask you lot in case there are health and safety aspects to consider. I suspect things that might have been suitable 20 years ago may no longer be appropriate.

Grateful for any suggestions as long as they're not too expensive!

Ta muchly.

Hello! My lab puppy came home 3 weeks ago and his 2 favourite toys for the first couple of weeks were a duck from pets at home that had no stuffing in it and a puppy chew bone, also from pets at home, that was really soft and chewy and vanilla scented. He also likes kongs but for how much they cost we bought the adult ones straight away rather than the puppy ones and he gets on fine with them! He also has a puppy frisbee he loves that can go in the freezer when he has trouble with his teeth. Hope that's given you some ideas, and have fun playing!

Thanks. Great ideas. I'll check out Pets at Home and see what they've got.
