low blood cell count

My friends dog has been losing weight, and vet just rang to say that blood tests showed a low white cell count. x ray of abdo and chest was ok, still eating and drinking well and full of beans but has lost a lot of weight.
We all fear the worst, liver disease was mentioned.

Coccyx, this is very sad news. Your friend must be devastated. I'm glad to hear the dog is still full of beans and hope it stays that way.

Thanks. They now say she has a urinary tract infection, but this would not have caused the weight loss. It is difficult for everyone as the family and dog are adorable.
