Can I just recommend a toy for all of you puppy/young dog owners?

I've just bought Jasper a tug-a-jug. I've put some of his lunch in it. He has been intently worrying at it for over half an hour now, and I've been able to eat a sandwich unmolested. It's like discovering dummies for babies. Seriously

Oh thank god - just exactly what I need! Puppy kongs (and grown up kongs for that matter) last a matter of seconds Hmm

Thank you chickens xxxxxx

I will look for that. Although I am sure he is having just as much fun with my best heels and anything dd leaves on the floor

[rueful]

Oooo I'm off to google that now! Thanks Smile

It is wonderful. At first, it gives out lots of the food if it's quite full, but towards the end they really have to work to get the last few bits. It's really holding his attention, but he does seem nose-led. I was looking at kongs, do you not rate them Elibean?

Definitely getting one of those! Looks like it'll last longer than the kong!

PurpleFrog · 10/11/2011 12:51

If you fill a kong with moistened kibble, or other moist food, then freeze, it will last a lot longer!

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 10/11/2011 14:05

An hour! I got one whole hour of peace for one small handful of kibble. There is a God

Cuteness!!!

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 10/11/2011 14:25

Jasper was shaking his from the base end, and then amazed that treats were appearing. It took him a while to work out it wasn't magic Grin

We have one of these - great arent they Smile

I'm impressed so far. To be fair, it's the first 'puzzle' toy I've bought, so maybe they're all as good.

Alternatively you could just leave your daughter's duvet in the sitting room and your puppy will have a lovely time chewing holes in that :(

Elibean · 10/11/2011 14:59

Yes, the kongs are good Chickens, but Mouse just seems to empty them in seconds - mind you, I don't put sticky stuff in them, just his food? Might try frozen - except for the watery foody puddles all over the place Hmm...

Sad for the duvet. So far no tragic accidents here, but several near misses!
