I had my 2 year old lhasa apso castrated yesterday. He is not getting on at all well with the elizabethan collar. He won't eat or drink or toilet with it on but when i take it off he goes straight for his stitches. Is there a kinder alternative as he looks so miserable Sad

I read that an an electric collar and was just about to seriously get on my high horse!

I'm not an expert of boy doggies but could you put a pair of pants on him? We had a comfy collar for Lilly which is inflatable but it may be too late to try and get one

I think I'll ring pets at home and ask if they have anything. I don't think we've got any pants that would fit him. He is a real licker so definately need something.

I think I saw the padded/inflatable comfy collars last time I went to Pets at Home. :)

If you do put pants on him, please post a pic. Please.

thanks for the tip about pets at home. I've got knickers on him at the moment which are fine while i'm with him to stop him licking but he can move them out of the way and still get to his stitches. I've tried rining pets at home but no-one is answering. Got to put the e collar back on while i go on the school run but feel really bad for him. I think i'll have a drive down to pets at home later and see if they've got the inflatable one. I would post pic of dog in knickers but camera's not working at the mo. They are mickey mouse ones Grin

We used a pair of DH's undies on our girlie while she was in heat. She was hilarious

Would these be any good?

Those anti lick strips look like a great idea. I've got to take him back to the vets tomorrow morning so i'll check with her first before getting them.

Just about to take him for a walk, he's so happy when I take the E collar off. Better remember to take his knickers off before his walk though!
