My mum walks the dogs for two hours per day all winter so want to get her some good Wellies for Xmas what make is the best?

Watching with interest... my Hunters are on their last legs (groan) and I understand that the brand are not now as well made as they were when I bought mine.

Don't want to pay as much as I did for my Hunters either if I can help it!

i got my hunters in the clearance sale from welly warehouse (i think)

i've had them about 2 or 3yrs. they are worn a lot and are still in good nick. i have heard lots of negative things about the quality now but as they were in sale then took a chance. i've been very happy with quality of them.

also got a pair for ds (size 14 Shock adults size) he doesnt look after them at all and they are still in good condition

Get her some Muck Boots. They are neoprene lined, very comfortable and keep your feet toasty (much more so than Hunters!), plus being around £50, they are usually cheaper than Hunters.

If you get the non-equestrian ones, they have tractor tyre-like tread and are very grippy when it's muddy and slippery out.

gothicangel this link gives the different calf circumferences in cm for the different sizes and styles for Hunters.

I've found they can be a bit snug if you have several pairs of thick socks on to keep your feet warm (which you need in the winter with Hunters or else your toes drop off!)

Muck boots are lovely although mine have aren't very grippy on ice or snow.
I have Nora PU wellies at the moment and they are lovely - warm in the cold but cool on a warm day, very grippy and comfortable - I've walked miles in mine.

Gothic I wear Huntress. They're slightly shorter but have a wider calf fitting.
