We are currently looking after our friends dog this week whilst they are on holiday. Have noticed her scratching and on further investigation have found that she has fleas! Dont really want a house infestation so want to get this under control.
I do know that my friend dosed her up with Bob Martin flea treatment before she went away, and she is wearing a flea collar. Thought about taking her to the vet tomorrow to see if they could give her anything stronger, or should I just go to the local pet shop and buy something? Any advice appreciated!

Bob Martin is useless. You can get Frontline from most pet shops without a prescription these days, or something like Advocate from the Vet. Frontline should be fine if she's not usually treated with it.
You'll want to get some household spray too as only 5% of the fleas are on the dog, the rest are in the environment. Avoid anything with Bob Martin Or Johnson on the tin. IME Staykill, Acclaim or Indorex are all good.
If you like your friend a lot you might want to get an extra can an hand it to her when she picks up the dog. If the house has been empty for a week and she comes home and switches the heating on, she's going to need it!
