I want to get my Springer Spaniel's fur cut as its far too long and just looks silly imo.
But, how do I chose what to do with his fur? It needs cutting, his feet look like he is wearing fluffy slippers and he keeps getting grass seeds stuck. His ears look like they have been permed and he has developed this funky little bit of hair on top of his head! His chest looks like a lions mane.

So, is there a doggy hairstyle website or something we can chose a style from? Grin

Just posted about this on the cross-breed thread.
I spent days window-shopping on the internet for a cockapoo "style" I liked, and in the end bowed to the groomer's superior knowledge, let go of my control freak tendencies and let her get on with it. I only asked that she didn't turn him into a skinhead!
He's just come home looking gorgeous!

The groomer I know has asked if I want him shaved short, a general tidy up or a bit of clipping to shorten the coat.
Thinking about it, I reckon we should go with the shaved short but I'm worried it will look stupid. He really is very hairy!
Let me post a pic to show you a recent photo.

This may sound daft, but won't he be cold if you get his fur shaved now?

We try to aim for a pretty short cut in the summer, so that the fur has grown back by now to keep him warm in the winter - then we just trim his feet & any problematic bits (ie make sure he can actually see) until the weather warms up.

I did wonder about the weather and him being cold, but other dogs cope well with very short fur (my sisters dog is virtually bald!) and tbh, my dog is never still long enough to get cold!
But, I will ask the dog groomer about this as of course as I wouldn't want my dog to be too cold. He gets treated better than my DC at times Grin

You could get him a nice little outfit to wear! Grin

My DH would never, ever walk him then!
Although today in PAH, he told me about a parka coat he had seen for the dog.

Oh Kid, he's gorgeous just the way he is!!! How about getting the fur around his feet and ear trimmed and leaving the rest? Our lovely Springer had the perm thing on top of his head as well. I always thought it made him look a bit louche and decadent Wink
