What do your dogs sleep on/in?

I think I'm being a bit harsh! Mine only has a vetbed may thing in his crate. He hasn't complained, but looked a bit pitiful when I came down this morning? Should he be in a basket or something as well?

my 4 yr old cocker has bed, and has started trying to curl up in the washing basket so i might get her a basket and see if she likes it,

if he is ok, i would leave it, or take him to a pet shop and let him test one, i did that with her current bed and it was the first one she went over too,

Love the idea of him test driving in a pet shop! I didn't say in OP that he's a crazy 5 month old springer pup! Don't think I'd handle it. But I will go and see what's available, thanks.

we buy old blankets from charity shops when we see them, old duvets from the kids

Charlie has blankets in a dog bed, in the utility room for night time. For the day we have those cushion beds in the sitting room and dining room, but the big boys sleep on the sofas.

Smalldog has a plastic bed, lined with a soft cusioned fleecy bed, with 3 small fleece blanets which he likes to carry around and suck and a big blue fleece blanket to sleep under. and random bits of toys.

Bigdog has a blanket on the floor in the corner. He refuses to sleep on the sofa I gave him

Mine has blankets in a cage overnight and TWO settees of his own one in the living room and one in the dining room and he still tries to creep up next to me on my settee. He also has a plastic bed with a big cushion in it but the only time that gets used is to store toys.

My two have the choice of 4 sofas. But these are strictly daytime only.

At night they sleep with us. One under the bed and one lays by my side with occasional night time kisses on the floor. Even though there is a sofa in the bedroom [crazy dog emoticon]

at these. I thought we were terrible for letting our old hairy hound on the bed. He hadn't slept with us for years but the past few months I'm waking up to find him next to me! He has a variety of beds of his own and the sofas downstairs but obviously human company is what is best.

Folded up duvets mainly (finest of the Asda cheapest) - daytime they tend to have the sofas downstairs (although one of them thinks he's a cat and tries to sleep on the BACK of the sofa and invariably falls off), nighttime beside the bed upstairs - although for some strange reason I invariably wake up to find my legs curled up as far as they'll go and a greyhound stretched out at the foot of the bed.

Ours has a big memory foam bed with a fleece blanket, and also a cheap Pets at Home bed downstairs. No basket or bed with sides as he likes to stretch out, and it's difficult to find one big enough!

He does sleep a lot on the floor though, can often be found sprawled in the bedroom doorway at night (perfectly positioned for me to trip over if I need to get up ).

"Proper" vet bed is the deluxe bedding for dogs - so stick with it!

It is hygenic, keeps dog warm when cold, and cold when it is warm. If the dog is wet the vet bed will keep the dog dry and not lie in the wet.

It will never smell doggy if washed regulary. It is great for old dogs who have aching joints. It is great for puppies and hard to chew.

I think your dog has the best bedding there is.

Vet bed here in her crate - got two pieces so can alternate when they need washing.

Only prob is when we are out and she has the run of the utility room/porch, she pulls the vet bed out of her crate to wee on it. Never wees on it when it is in the crate though..

Right, I'll stick with my vetbeds then, until he demands somethig else. I have two, one in the crate and one where I want him to settle in kitchen or lounge. How do you dry yours?

A fabric bed shaped liked a basket with a fleece in the bottom-in daughter´s room.

Two cushions (80x80cms) side by side & covered in a fleece-in our room.

An old double duvet folded over with a cotton cover (& fleece for when necessary) in the sitting room.

Our doggy isn´t spoiled, oh no!

Dog fleecy bed in office, dog soft snuggly bed in lounge, ds's bed (only in day), my bed in day if I forget to close door and sofas in lounge. She's not spoiled either! But she's only little. . And doesn't moult!

vet bed in crates for reasons above! They'd have old duvets but I find vetbed so much easier to wash regularly. ALthough in winter I've got some crate liners from Pets at Home that have a padded rim to keep out any draughts.

Disclaimer: both dogs sleep on their own kitchen sofa during the day, and one is asleep on my foot on the no-dogs human sofa right now. He is earning his keep as a mobile foot warmer so is fine.

The mobile mop has a lovely bed with a vetbed cover. However, since we brought a wool arabic rug out of storage he inists on sleeping on this who knows why?

My two small Jack Russells have high sided plastic dog beds to keep the draughts out. One in living room the other next to the radiator in the kitchen. They shiver when they get cold so are wearing fleece jackets indoors too. In the beds (easy to clean and disinfect) they have folded up fleece blankets underneath and fake fur blankets backed with fleece to cover them at night. All easy and quick to wash and dry. They are both tiny and feel the cold. All the other breeds we've had didn't need this sort of fuss.

As Moss is still only nine months old (miniature Jack Russell) she still has her crate in the kitchen too. That just has the spare folded up fleece blankets in there, but she does like to go in there when I'm hoovering.

my girl has a two crates, each with a big square dog pillow-like bed inside, & umpteen blankets, a basket with a pillow & blankets, and her couch.

9/10 she still sleeps in our bed though :)

She also has a terribly fashionable kath kidston bed she chewed the first day sha had it and has not even looked at since bastard
