Ok so at the risk of making myself look silly and inexperienced...

How long on average should I expect my dogs first season to last? Mainly in terms of needing to keep her away from other dogs.

Our 14 month old pup has FINALLY started bleeding all over the place and is looking v sorry for herself....the week before we are due to go to center parcs with her!

My parents own her mum and could potentially be asked very nicely to dog sit for the week but I'd rather not have to ask.

Any advice greatfully received!!

We're three weeks into our Greyhounds season and she is still driving my neutered Terrier nuts.

I believe it's around a month and it's definately after the beeding stops.

alice15's reply on this thread a few days ago is very detailed. Iirc she is a vet, so she should know.

Before we had MoleDog spayed she bled for about 10 days but I think the season lasts alot longer than the actual bleeding, about 3 weeks IIRC

I wouldnt necessarily not take her away if you planned on long walks with her etc as a nice part of your holiday, you just need to be vigilant and keep her on her lead. Thats all we used to do.

Do get her spayed as soon as you can though, its much better not having to run around after MoleDog with tissues and we dont worry anymore about adding to the already overcrowed rescues with an accidental litter of MolePups

Yes, she will probably be at her most fertile while you are at CentreParcs, so definitely, definitely don't take her, and if you are not 100% confident about your parents' security arrangements, find a boarding kennels quickly!
