Glad things are looking better, but you really need to know what the cause of the encephalopathy is as this is a global term covering lots of different things so examples are hepatic encephalopathy and mengiogranulomatous encephalopathy.

It has the current name Seasonal Canine Illness (SCI) first cases seen 2009. Clinical signs vomiting, diarrhoea, shaking, trembling and seizures. Several areas of the country appear to be affected. I have seen two possible cases in Berkshire this year.

brokenwingedflier · 15/09/2011 17:42

Lizcat (thanks for your help) it is hepatic. She will be taking lactulose.

@TheOriginalFab, I hope your cat is ok. Thank you all for your kindness. I think (I think, I think, I think) that she will be home tomorrow afternoon.

TheOriginalFAB · 15/09/2011 17:58

Thanks, she won't get better so it is just a case of keeping her without any suffering and her being happy.

brokenwingedflier · 15/09/2011 18:10

Does she have a porto-systemic shunt causing this?

TheOriginalFAB · 15/09/2011 19:17

Don't be daft. It is great news BWFDog is going to be okay and FABCat is not on her last paws just yet.

substantiallycompromised · 15/09/2011 19:17
