Where did you walk your dog(s) today?

I got this idea from the riding log in The Tack Room.
I thought if dog owners wrote a bit each day about where they took their dogs, and what they did with them, it might give other people some ideas for new places to take their dogs.
I like hearing about other people's walks anyhow...

Today I took The Old Boy ( 10 year old collie/ retriever cross with hind leg problems) and The Lurcher to a local park that has a wildlife reserve. We walked with another three dogs and it took about 45 minutes. It's pretty flat and not too muddy but both dogs went in the 'pond', a huge muddy hole that was quite full.
The Lurcher chased a few magpies and disappeared at one stage ( will get her a bell, I think) but was otherwise uneventful.

To school and back and then just now around the garden - but she is only 16w so doesn't need much walking and she had a long amble with us blackberry picking yesterday.

We did one of our standard routes through some local woodland, but I realised half-way round that wasn't such a good idea in the high winds today - a tree blew down just as I was walking past. Luckily it didn't fall over the path, but I spent the rest of the walk eyeing trees very suspiciously and listening out for cracks and groaning noises.

If it's still this windy tomorrow I think we'll be out in open fields somewhere.

Am not sure how transferable this is to other dog owners if they don't live in 'my manor', but I walk my dogs off lead in a choice of 3 or 4 favourite locations in the New Forest. When feeling particularly energetic I take them for an off road run with me (there is a circular route which is 4.5 miles long)

We haven't. I attempted it. Devil Dog almost blew away and the hounds howled for mercy. We came back home after we reached the end of street.

Up the bridle path to next town, and then back home along the canal, Had DS in his rucksack (1yo) and was shocked that our dog wanted to go into the canal, He is 8 months old and never been interested before cant see it being long until he braves jumping in!

I can't walk mine to school as The Old Boy hates being tied up and yells his head off. We have to drop the kids off at the playground gate, which is up the drive and dogs aren't allowed on the school property.I envy those who are able to take their dogs on the school run as it would be extremely handy sometime.
exex eek at the tree falling over. I avoided the woods proper today for that very reason.
HMC I am in the middle of Middlesex, and we walk in a different place every day of the week.

Short walk along an embankment that was part of a coalmine's railway track many decades ago. Now woodland, entirely reclaimed by nature. Brought a ball so that dog could exhaust himself with difficult retrieves that involve him racing up and down the embankment slope and plunging into undergrowth. Then back along riverside. No swim today, to avoid annoying a fisherman.

Haven't walked mine today. Staffy is refusing to set foot out the door unless absolutely necessary.
Doodle is happy throwing arty, model type poses in the wind!

A quick walk at stupid o clock this morning for my own dogs, along country paths (dark, not funny with a black Lab amongst the pack!), walks with my "charges" across footpaths, alongside fields and later on will be walking my own and others on the footpaths alongside the river where it's very pretty and where 2 of my 3 and others can paddle in a shallow sloping pool. (Not so my elder GSD, owing to his epilepsy. :( ).

Standard route of circular field walk whilst throwing tennis balls, passing the churchyard and a quick dip in the stream (her, not me) totally marred by the fact I completely managed to not see a dead owl and stepped in it right at the off. Sort of put a dampener on the whole thing

Mine hates the rain too. He has to be at the 'Doing the Pee Dance' stage before he'll go out.

Surprisingly, he loves the snow! Throw snowballs about and he's a happy Staffy.

Great idea. I took my two Rottweilers (and DD) onto the big hill where local people let dogs off lead. Girldog chased a tennis ball, Boydog and DD chased each other and a lovely pair of spaniels we met.

Then we continued to the park and sports pitch, once around the perimeter, and then the dogs had a lie down next to the fence whilst DD and I played in the park for a while.

Then we walked the approx 500m home.

I stepped on half a dead mouse yestrday (the other half being in a cat's stomach, I suspect). I had managed to blank it out of my mind until I read about your owl-stepping antics.

I haven't walked mine yet as I oversletp and had to be at work. She hates the wind though, so will probably just nip up the road to a field with standing stones in so she can have a quick run.

My poor two missed their proper lunchtime walk today, as I didn't have time for lunch- they are still here at work with me, and have been out for the toilet, but are looking at me very reproachfully I feel like a bad mum!

Sorry DBF. Can we start some counselling? I'm fairly traumatised myself! Especially as my one shoe lost it's grip as a result of said antics and I kept slipping. I have tried to find solace in the fact that it was an open toe walking sandal and could have been much worse [blech]

We had a somewhat blustery walk in the woods today; we met a lovely old cocker spaniel (Sonny is a cocker too), a mad labrador and a grumpy old jack russell. Sonny drank from various muddy puddles and came home with several million sticky seed pods stuck in his undercarriage & ears.

DH took our springer pup out for an off lead woodland walk this morning, where she ran in the bushes, met a couple of other dogs and came home happy and muddy.

I took her on a lead walk to the pet shop and vets (I'm a worried mum about her weight-too skinny!) Where she got made a fuss of but pulled far too much to trying to chase leaves blowing in the wind!

I took the labradors out on a circular woodland walk, that ends up alongside the most beautiful river (lots of sheets of stone with water flowing over and around them), picking blackberries as we went. Dogs had a dip too.

I thought this would be best as I would have been blown away in the open fields. Didn't see another soul out today, must have been too windy.

Took the lurcher and the schnoodle (Little and Large ) to the woods today. We usually go to a lovely walk which begins at the end of our road and follows a stream for miles - across a park where we play ball - but they always go in the water and need hosing down on return home and I can't always face it... so we need to go on a dry walk from time to time.
Wasn't windy at all

Blustery walk in local park this morning with dog very excited and running round in circles, which she seems to do when it is very windy. Does anyone else's dog do this? Usual habits of eating rabbit droppings (which I understand are completely harmless?) and trying to get her white coat as muddy as possible. Seems to like eating mud lately as well.
