Dog vomiting foam

About a week or go my dog was sick and it was just an off-white foam. He had been rummaging in the garden so we put it down to that (he does seem to have a sensitive stomach and can only have certain treats and food. We starved him for 24 hours and he was fine - nothing more came of it.

Then a few days later the same thing happened - just white foam in the morning. Then he is fine afterwards and jumping around, playing, wanting to eat etc.

After nothing for another couple of days he has done it again this morning. Bit mopey, vomited some foam and is fine again.

I've got him booked in at the vets on Friday, but wondered if anyone had any suggestions? I've had a look online and it mentioned kennel cough as a possibility, but he's been vaccinated for that and doesn't have any other symptoms. It also mentioned that it is stomach acid and it could be that it is building up on a night, but would this still occur after he has eaten his breakfast?

My cat was doing this last night, I think it is caused by hair or something else that is causing an irritation in their digestive system.

My dog does this sometimes when he has been eating grass or leaves in the garden or on walks. Or when he was younger, if he'd got hold of something plastic and chewed it up and swallowed it. But if it's happening a lot, and you don't see bits of greenery/plastic coming up with it, vets sounds like a good idea.

ours always used to do it with grass too, but agree that you do normally see grass in it if it is that.

Can't see anything in it and we've banned him from the garden so we can keep an eye on it and it's still happening. He's still eating as normal and doing his business normally so I'm hoping it's nothing serious

We've had this with various dogs, usually first thing in the morning on a empty stomach occassionally. Never consistant so we've regarded normality in some dogs.

Stop letting him eat sherbet!!

Of course get him checked, but if he's not ill, not coughing (KC makes them cough so much they can cough up foam as a result, but foam on its own doesn't mean it's KC), not vomiting food, not drinking more, and not got diarrhoea, I wouldn't worry too much. I have 4 dogs, and there is at least one vomit bout a week on average, between them - dogs do vomit much more easily than people. Having said that, of course the vet will give you peace of mind.
