Puppy has come home! A few questions?

I have brought my puppy home this afternoon! Squee!

He is asleep next to me but he is breathing very quickly, is that normal?
He has had a drink and a sniff but is mainly sticking to me like glue.
Do I just wait for him to wake up then take him for a wee?

Yes it's normal for them to breathe fast, just like babies do sometimes. As long as he's asleep, he's fine, but the second he wakes up take him out for a wee. The trick is to understand that he cannot hold it if he needs to go, and he will need to go out every 20 mins ish when awake. Have some treats with you and praise him like crazy when he goes (try using a work- in my case '(do your) business' What kind of puppy is he?

He is a pure black 8 week old German Shepard. No accidents yet, he has been outside a dew times for a wee. He had a mad hour of puppy mischief and now he is snoring again. his name is Shadow.
